Update Channels
How to use stable and nightly update channels for Deadlock Mod Manager
Update Channels
Deadlock Mod Manager offers two update channels: Stable and Nightly. You can choose how you receive updates depending on whether you prefer reliability or early access to new features.
Stable Channel
The default channel. Stable releases are thoroughly tested and signed with the production code-signing policy. This is the recommended channel for most users.
Nightly Channel
Nightly builds are generated automatically every day from the latest development branch. They include the newest features and bug fixes, but may contain unstable or incomplete functionality.
Nightly builds use a test code-signing policy. Windows SmartScreen may show a warning when you first run a nightly build.
Versioning
Nightly versions follow the format X.Y.Z-nightly.YYYYMMDD.hash, where:
X.Y.Zis the next minor version above the current stable releaseYYYYMMDDis the build datehashis the short git commit hash
For example, if stable is 0.18.0, a nightly might be 0.19.0-nightly.20260421.abc1234.
Switching to the Nightly Channel
You opt in from within the app so there is a single installation and one place for app data (including mod state). Do not run two different builds of Deadlock Mod Manager against the same game install.
- Open Settings
- Under System Settings, find Update Channel
- Select Nightly
- Restart the application
After restarting, the app will check for updates from the nightly channel. To switch back, change the setting to Stable and restart again.
